Before you take a risk, are you in a state with mental health parity? Mental health may not be covered by your insurance anyhow. And also, know that for mild to moderate depression, antidepressants help no more than a placebo, research shows (go read the latest newsweek for more on this, or google that topic). For severe depression, antidepressants help only a modest amount, if at all – hard to know, because antidepressants are not tested against an “active” placebo with side effects, so most everyone in these research studies figures out who is on the active drug and who isn’t, after awhile. I’ll also give you my depression tips, so maybe you can skip the doctor altogether, for all but the most serious depression:Depression tips (PRINT THEM OUT):If your depression is worse in winter, try to get more sun. You may have seasonal affective disorder (SAD) or your depression could be partly seasonal. First off, I have been a claims adjuster for 20+ years. Using a credit report to help determine rates is pure BS. As another poster stated many people with good credit suck at driving. Their the ones who are wealthy and too busy to pay attention while driving. I have investigated 1000′s of accidents and there is absolutely no correlation between bad credit and bad driving. I agree there is a correlation between good credit and the insurance company getting paid on time. That is their main concern. Using the credit report crap to charge higher rates is just a bonus to the company.And folks let’s be clear about the myth that insurance is required in all states. It is NOT!! It certainly should be but it is not.People who are not in the insurance game (like nan6872) assume that insurance is required in all states because that is a logical conclusion, except when dealing with insurance and vehicle laws there is not much logic applied. There are many states that do not require mandatory insurance but instead require “financial responsibility”. For example I handle a lot of claims in Wisconsin. There are tons of insured drivers there drinking their great beer and driving home. I agree there is a correlation between good credit and the insurance company getting paid on time. That is their main concern. Using the credit report crap to charge higher rates is just a bonus to the company.And folks let’s be clear about the myth that insurance is required in all states. It is NOT!! It certainly should be but it is not.People who are not in the insurance game (like nan6872) assume that insurance is required in all states because that is a logical conclusion, except when dealing with insurance and vehicle laws there is not much logic applied. There are many states that do not require mandatory insurance but instead require “financial responsibility”. For example I handle a lot of claims in Wisconsin. There are tons of insured drivers there drinking their great beer and driving home. I'm not sure where you live but there are certain slmlaer companies that do not use your credit as a bases for insurance. I don't know where you are but I do know in Florida if you go into a Trustway or Apple insurance office, they will be able to find a company that will do that for you. Bear in mind that because they do not use your credit these companies are not the best, they are slow to make claims and will drop you the second you lie or make a mistake. I believe that Trustway insurance is available in the south east part of the US and even in TX.Hope I helped |
